The responsibilities of the Business Team are primarily focused around the financing of firstly the Beaver itself, and subsequently providing funding for any Beaver affiliated projects or campus based efforts.
The Beaver is primarily financed through the sponsorship of merchandise and advertisements placed in issues of the paper.
Advertising with The Beaver is the only way to effectively reach the 7,500 students of the LSE, as well as members of LSE staff and the vast alumni community which includes fourteen Nobel Prize winners in Economics, Peace and Literature, thirty-eight heads of state or heads of government, and over 90 Members of Parliament and the House of Lords.
An authoritative and intelligent source of news and student opinion on campus the paper is regarded as one of the UK’s best student newspapers. The Beaver is also regularly quoted in national newspapers. LSE students come from all over the globe, making us the UK’s most diverse university. More countries are represented at the LSE than in the United Nations.
LSE was ranked as the 11th best university in the world by 2004 THES survey, third in the UK only to Oxford and Cambridge. It was also rated 2nd best social science institution in the world after Harvard.

The Beaver business team currently employs 6 people including Saurabh Sharma (Business Manager), Annelies Vermuelen (Assistant Business Manager), Tim Turner, Katrina Choy, Anai Patel and Zoe Billingham.
